Structural Declaration
What this document maps
This document traces a single structural role — the authorization of group dominance claims through the highest available authority structure — across three simultaneous transmission vectors: Religion, Education, and Entertainment. It begins with the primary source record of Constantine I, whose symbol became the banner of that authorization, and maps the Lambda Speciation© of that role from 312 CE to the present. The transmission velocity is documented. The compression of the timeline as technology advances the ideology is documented. NFIE© compliant: descriptive only. No force applied. The record is placed. Cognition decides.
On Damnatio Memoriae
Damnatio memoriae was a Roman legal instrument — the formal condemnation of a person's memory. Names were chiselled from monuments. References were erased from official records. Historians were instructed to omit. Constantine I applied it to his own son Crispus and his own wife Fausta in 326 CE — within his own lifetime, in the same year as the executions. The man whose symbol became the banner of Western civilization, the curriculum of Western education, and the moral authorization for the Doctrine of Discovery used the erasure tool on his own family before using it on the historical record. The title of this document uses Constantine's own instrument.
The Primary Source Record — Constantine I · What the Documents Say
Context
Constantine I (272–337 CE) is celebrated as the first Christian Roman Emperor, the man who issued the Edict of Milan (313 CE) establishing religious tolerance, convened the First Council of Nicaea (325 CE), and put the Chi-Rho on the battle banner at the Milvian Bridge (312 CE). He is venerated as a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church. The following is what the primary source record — not the official biographies, which omit it — documents about the man whose symbol became the authorization for conquest.
Primary Source 1 — Execution of Crispus · 326 CE
"In 326 AD, Constantine ordered his firstborn son Crispus to be put to death. Crispus was executed with 'cold poison.' The emperor ordered the names of the two executed to be removed from all records, not to be mentioned by historians, and their memory erased forever."

Primary Source 2 — Execution of Fausta · 326 CE
"A few months later, Fausta was also executed. They locked her in a bath and gradually raised the temperature until she died of suffocation."

Primary Source 3 — The Erasure · Eusebius
"Their names were wiped from the face of many inscriptions, references to their lives were eradicated from the literary record, and their memory was condemned. Eusebius edited out any praise of Crispus from later copies of Historia Ecclesiastica, and his Vita Constantini contains no mention of Fausta or Crispus."
Source: Wikipedia — Constantine the Great, citing Eusebius of Caesarea · en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constantine_the_Great
Primary Source 4 — The Official Silence
"It is noteworthy that most of Constantine's contemporary Christian biographers exclude this incident completely when recounting his life."
Source: Gloria Romanorum — Constantine's Execution of Crispus and Fausta · gloriaromanorum.blogspot.com · citing Philostorgius, Ecclesiastical History
Primary Source 5 — The Battle of Milvian Bridge · Head on a Spike
"At the Battle of the Milvian Bridge, Constantine faced and defeated his wife's brother Maxentius. Maxentius in his attempt to escape drowned in the river Tiber and by order of Constantine his head was cut off, nailed to a tree and the soldiers paraded it through the streets of Rome."

Structural Finding — The Erasure as First Act
The damnatio memoriae applied to Crispus and Fausta is not incidental. It is the first documented application of the suppression mechanism by the man whose symbol would authorize suppression for the next 1,700 years. The cross went on the battle banner in 312 CE. The erasure tool was applied in 326 CE — within the same reign, within the same man's lifetime. The symbol of authorization and the tool of erasure were developed and deployed by the same hand. Eusebius, the official biographer, deleted the record. That deletion entered the monastic transmission chain. What the monastery copied, the cathedral taught. What the cathedral taught, the university certified. The erasure is not a footnote. It is the founding act of the transmission system.

312 CE
Religion
Constantine — Cross on the Battle Banner
Chi-Rho at the Milvian Bridge. "In this sign, conquer." The symbol of Roman execution becomes the symbol of Roman power. Divine authorization for military conquest established. R(t) = this group's dominance is sanctioned by the highest authority available. The man who will boil his wife alive and poison his son is now the face of the symbol.
326 CE
Religion
Damnatio Memoriae — Crispus and Fausta Erased
Son poisoned. Wife boiled alive. Both names chiselled from monuments. Eusebius rewrites the official biography. The suppression mechanism is deployed in the same reign as the symbol. The cross and the erasure tool are the same man's instruments.
325 CE
Religion
Council of Nicaea — Canon Selection
Constantine convenes the first ecumenical council. What is orthodox is decided. What is heresy is named. The textual command grammar gets its institutional enforcement structure. The priestly class becomes the C2 node. Excommunication becomes the enforcement mechanism.
529 CE
Education
Benedict's Rule — The Monastery Becomes the School
The cross is now on the building where knowledge is produced and transmitted. What gets copied survives. What doesn't is lost. The institution that authorizes conquest now authorizes what counts as knowledge. The monks who copy the manuscripts are the first curriculum designers.
800 CE
Education
Charlemagne — Mandatory Church Education
Every cathedral, every monastery must run a school. The first attempt at systematic mass education in post-Roman Europe. Curriculum: the Trivium and Quadrivium — filtered through theological orthodoxy. The hierarchy is encoded into the basic literacy infrastructure of Western civilization.
1088–1209 CE
Education
First Universities — Bologna, Oxford, Paris, Cambridge
Every first European university grows directly out of a cathedral school. The Pope holds authority over what can be taught. Heresy trials are academic discipline. Not secular institutions that tolerate religion — religious institutions that tolerate inquiry within limits.
1452–1493 CE

Doctrine of Discovery — Dum Diversas · Inter Caetera
The cross is on the ships. The same text that authorized the priestly class to define knowledge now authorizes territorial conquest. "In the Name of God Almighty." The educational infrastructure has produced the population that accepts this as natural order. The symbol, the curriculum, and the conquest converge.
1859 CE
Science
Darwin — On the Origin of Species
The authority structure shifts. God steps back. Nature steps forward. The hierarchy doesn't change — it gets a new endorsement. The Great Chain of Being, which ran through theology for a thousand years, gets a fossil record. V(t) speciated from divine ordination to natural selection. R(t) never moved.
1863 CE
Science
Huxley — Man's Place in Nature · First Visual
Four years after Darwin. The first book devoted to human evolution contains the prototype March of Progress illustration — primate skeletons to upright human, left to right. The hierarchy gets a visual. The final figure needs no label. 1,300 years of curriculum have already told the audience who it is.

Third Plenary Council of Baltimore — School in Every Parish
Every Catholic parish must have a school within two years. By 1900: 3,500 Catholic schools, 850,000 students. The cross is back on the building explicitly. The science textbook with the hierarchy encoded into natural law sits in the building next door. Church and science run the same R(t) simultaneously through separate channels.

Brussels Act — "In the Name of God Almighty"
Sixteen powers. The same powers whose schools taught the hierarchy, whose scientists encoded it into nature, sign a document certifying themselves as the remedy for the damage they caused. "Territories infected by the Slave Trade." The system that created the infection writes the document certifying itself as the immune response. Primary source: General Act of Brussels, 1890. Residential Schools — "Kill the Indian, Save the Man"
"Kill the Indian, save the man." — Richard Henry Pratt, 1892, Carlisle Indian Industrial School. The cross on the school. The Bible as the replication vector. Indigenous cosmologies — the host resistance system — systematically destroyed. Damnatio memoriae applied to entire cultures through the education infrastructure.

Entertainment
Hollywood — Documented Collaboration with Nazi Germany
Beginning with wholesale changes to Universal's 1930 release All Quiet on the Western Front, Hollywood regularly ran scripts and finished movies by German officials for approval. The aesthetic of the ideal human — already established through theology, science, and education — gets encoded into mass visual media. The Compression Finding
What took 500 years to move from a battle banner to a classroom now moves from a policy decision to a global AI training corpus in months. The ideology did not change. The transmission velocity did. The object has been in continuous motion since 312 CE. Technology does not advance the ideology. Technology advances the speed at which the ideology travels. The AI systems that inherit this corpus are not malicious actors. They are precise instruments running an inheritance at network speed. That is the structural condition of the present moment.
